AMA hosts new payment models seminar on July 12

Learn about new physician payment and delivery models being tested in Medicare and adopted in the private sector during "Pathways to success with new payment models: Bundled payments, medical homes, accountable care organizations," a seminar scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Central time on Monday, July 12, at the Chicago Marriott O'Hare. This seminar is the first in a series of regional seminars the AMA will be hosting on this topic. Harold Miller, executive director of the Center for Healthcare Quality and Payment Reform, will explore the new approaches to physician payment and delivery of care.

Miller is the author of a new AMA white paper on this topic available to AMA members at http://www.ama-assn.org/ama/pub/about-ama/2010-strategic-issues/payment-model-resources.shtml. In addition, practicing physicians who are successfully implementing bundling and accountable care models will share their experiences. AMA physician members, their office staff, and staff of state and specialty societies can attend the seminar at a discounted rate of $89. Registration for non-AMA member physicians is $299.
